Question from a friend of WordTruth Press:

>>>   I see God as two separate circles that do not overlap.  One stands for God, the other stands for the universe.  The universe circle never really gets inside of the God circle, seemingly because time, change, and materiality are seen as the complete and total antithesis of God, which means he is not about to react to it. And then the God circle never enters into the universe circle, simply because he would then be touched by things, which isn't allowable.  So, to me anyway, it seems that God and the universe are but two separate, independent aspects of some larger, all-inclusive whole that transcends either one of them.  What should this be called?  Meta-God?

WordTruth Press Response:

You will never find anything beyond God who is infinite spirit in nature. "Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no Savior" (Isaiah 43:10b, NKJV).  As I hope I've explained previously (see How can an unchanging God relate to an everchanging world?), God interacts with His creation without His nature or character changing.  So your analogy is incorrect in drawing a "God-circle" that is anything less than all encompassing with the creation within His sphere (since God is infinite).  The Almighty God, Creator of all things, cannot be put in a box.

May God bless you with His wisdom and the courage to follow Jesus!
